TRUTHFULNESS

"Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak
truthfully, for we are all of one body."

Ephesians 4:25

I think of all the folks I meet,
And often wonder if they see,
A life that's filled with vain deceit,
Or filled with truth and honesty.

Is my life an open book,
To all my friends who know me best?
If they would take a second look,
Would what they see pass every test?

Lord, give me more tenacity,
To live my life with no facade,
A life marked with veracity,
That always points the way to God.

Remove from me all "false veneer",
That tends to hide your lovely face,
And make my life a perfect mirror,
Reflecting, God, your wondrous grace.

May the life I live here day to day,
Be one of love and usefulness,
And to the world may I portray,
A heart that's filled with truthfulness.
