The Way Home

Sweet Reunions

A telephone call from a lifetime away
Brought a sweet reunion to me today
Surprise and laughter filled my heart
As if we'd never been apart.

A town of childhood summers spent
Old memories of sweet reunions sent
Rivers of tears upon my face
Remembering this treasured place.

A song sparks unexpected glee
And sweet reunion with a memory
So strong that all my senses know
I've just reached out to long ago.

In the morning when I pray
I thank the Lord for one more day
A sweet reunion in my soul
With the One who makes me whole.

Then comes the day of glory
At the end of my life's story
I'll hear the Master call
For the sweetest reunion of all!
