Our Greatest Gift

Christmas is the time for friends
and spreading yuletide cheer,
Reaching out to folks we know
who live both far and near.

The air is cold, the ground is white -
we hurry to and fro.
The tree is trimmed, the lights are strung,
we're always on the go!

More gifts to wrap, cards must be done -
still another trip to the mall.
We're all so busy doing things,
we forget our greatest Friend of all.

This precious Friend - our loving Lord,
who reigns in Heaven above,
Gave the greatest Gift, His only Son -
a Gift matchless in mercy and love.

This Gift is free, needs no ribbon or bow,
you won't find it under your tree.
But when you receive it your whole life will change
In a way that all others can see.

This Gift should be shared with all others who need
a light in their darkness and fear.
At a time when all hope seems to be at an end,
He is watching, and always so near.
