Merry Christmas to one and all!

Oh, God...
help us rightly to remember
the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the
songs of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and the worship of the wise men.
May the Christmas morning
make us happy to be your children.
-Robert Louis Stevenson-

God be with you this Christmas!

May you make special memories
for your loved ones
during this wonderful time of the year.

My prayer is that you will each
find peace and joy in the coming year.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ,
may we all stay focused on the
Reason for the Season!

For many years it has concerned me that Christ has been reduced to "X" in too many cases. With all the commercialism and ever-increasing negative views toward Christianity, my concern is that Christ is being taken out of Christmas. Then I received this information last year and it helps to ease my mind even though I don't necessarily condone it.

The word Christmas is abbreviated as Xmas because the Greek letter x is the first letter of the Greek word for Christ, Xristos. The word xmas, meaning "Christ's Mass," was commonly used in Europe by the sixteenth century. It was not an attempt to take Christ out of Christmas.

Thank you for stopping by for
some holiday cheer. Please come again.
Loving prayers, pk
