WHEN LOVE PREVAILS ------
An awesome God so full of grace and
mercy redeems my fallen soul.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS -------
He takes my shattered broken life in
His loving hands and makes it whole.
This is salvation's plan,
Christ brought it down to man,
That gulf His grace does span,
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS -------
the constant storm that rages in my
battered soul is always stilled.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS --------
the yearning thirst that grips my hungry
spirit is always filled.
He whispers "peace be still"',
Of His love I drink my fill,
And I can know His perfect will,
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS --------
the long and lonely midnight hours thru
which I pass are always brightened.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS --------
the heavy burden of my anguished soul
is always lightened.
He will my foes defeat,
My every need He'll meet,
And His promise is so sweet,
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS -------
all thoughts of pride and prejudice that
I might harbor are dispelled.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS --------
the flames of bitterness and hate that
sear my calloused soul are quelled,
Like Him there is no other,
My contempt He'll surely cover,
And I can love my brother,
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS --------
the evil and the terror that so daily
plaques my life will disappear.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS --------
I can know the peace of God that gives
me hope instead of fear.
With joy I enter in,
He ransoms me from sin,
And I give all praise to Him,
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS --------
conflicts, wars and fighting here on
earth will surely cease.
WHEN LOVE PREVAILS --------
hope and faith and love within the
human breast will then increase.
These gifts come from above,
On wings of snow white dove,
But the greatest gift is love,
FOR LOVE PREVAILS.
