Keep Looking Up

Daddy was a preacher
And on his preacher's desk
A sign that read "Keep Looking Up"
My memory has kept.

As a child I thought I was to keep
My head turned toward the sky.
Not looking on the path ahead
I fell and bumped my eye.

Now that I am older
And my father has passed on
"Keep Looking Up" sustains me
Through the dark and with the dawn.

With prayer I touch my Father
The Heavenly One I know
My earthly father taught me
So many years ago.

Inside I have discovered
An overflowing cup
I'm drawing from it daily
Daddy look! I'm looking up.
