In the town of Bethlehem a child was born
Of the line of David, born to be a king.
An angel came to shepherds in the fields nearby
And this is what he said,
For unto you is born this day,
A Savior who is Christ the Lord.

This will be a sign to you you’ll find the child
In a humble setting wrapped in swaddling clothes.
Suddenly a host appeared all praising God,
And this is what they said,

The shepherds hurried to the site and found the child
With his loving parents lying in the hay.
They told all of their friends about the joy they’d found.
